Matte Black Studio is Matt's studio in Melbourne. He fits paint protection film and vinyl wraps on high-end cars.
He draws up the wrap and livery designs himself.
Art from car panels
Matt is also an artist. In 2020 he started making art from damaged and defective luxury car panels, covered in automotive vinyl in chrome, matte, satin and gloss. Most of the flat pieces are hand cut and torn rather than designed on a computer. The series is called Fragile Fortune, and it includes seven sculptures made from car parts.
